Join us for a creative morning at Mio Prairie, where art and conservation come together. During this unique outdoor workshop, participants will explore the native planting plots established in Fall 2025, observe the species growing on-site and paint them onto rocks that will serve as lasting identification markers throughout the prairie.
This all-ages event will introduce simple acrylic painting techniques while providing an opportunity to slow down, connect with the landscape and experience an immersive nature experience in the Huron-Manistee National Forest. The painted rocks will remain on-site as permanent plant identification markers, creating a lasting contribution to the prairie for future visitors to enjoy.
No painting experience is necessary. All supplies will be provided.
Location: Mio Prairie

We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals to engage fully. It is a priority for Huron Pines to ensure that our communications and programming are available and accessible to everyone. Please contact amanda@huronpines.org if you have any questions about accessibility or believe barriers remain.
We recognize that accessibility is not always possible in every area of our work. Our efforts are ongoing. Through a commitment to continued learning and understanding, we will strengthen our awareness of the barriers and inequities that exist at the individual and community levels, in order to advance more equitable opportunities to experience the outdoors in our region.
