8:30 AM - Guided Bird Walk
Tawas Point State Park (686 Tawas Beach Rd, East Tawas)
Meet at the Feeding Station near the lighthouse at Tawas Point State Park for a guided bird walk to observe migrating species.
11:00 AM - Educational Presentations
Tawas Senior Center (312 Newman St, East Tawas)
Two informative presentations:
11:00 AM: "Piping Plover Recovery in 2025" with Nick Theisen from Huron Pines. Learn about local recovery efforts and how you can help protect this endangered species.
12:00 PM: "Making Your Home Safe for Our Feathered Neighbors" with Pam Carter from Au Sable Valley Audubon.
2:00-4:00 PM - Invasive Species Pull
Riverbank Park (301 N. Lake St, Oscoda)
Join Russ Williams from the Iosco Conservation District for hands-on habitat restoration. Bring gloves and clippers.
These events are free and open to the public. No registration is necessary. All activities are suitable for bird enthusiasts of all experience levels.
