Join Huron Pines and partners for a hands-on professional learning workshop designed for teachers interested in environmental literacy, outdoor learning, and place-based education.

What You'll Learn

During this interactive workshop, educators will:

  • Explore the fundamentals of forest health and its connection to water quality

  • Learn practical forest management techniques that support healthy ecosystems

  • Practice monitoring protocols used to track environmental change over time

  • Discover strategies for engaging students in authentic, real-world environmental research and stewardship

Expert Instructors

The workshop will be led by local and regional partners from Huron Pines, MSU Extension, Alcona Conservation District, and the Northeast Michigan Great Lakes Stewardship Initiative, bringing expert knowledge and classroom-ready resources.
