Protect Potters Point

Help Secure a Great Lakes Legacy

41-Acre Property | 8,000ft of Lake Huron Shoreline | Public Access Forever | $1.52M Goal

Located in Alpena County

Potters Point is a 41-acre property just north of Alpena with nearly 8,000 feet of undeveloped Lake Huron shoreline — one of the most ecologically significant parcels in all of Northeast Michigan. It is one of the last places along Lake Huron where coastal wetlands, fens and dense forests exist together largely undisturbed, creating conditions found nowhere else in Michigan.

Protecting Potters Point would open this spectacular stretch of coastline to the public as a carefully stewarded nature preserve, offering low-impact recreation and educational experiences for all to enjoy. Securing this property would also complete a connected ring of protected land around nearly the entire bay.

The property is privately owned and currently for sale. More than $1 million has already been raised — but we can’t do this without you.

The future of Potters Point starts with you!
