Grab your book, pack a blanket and come spend a quiet afternoon in nature at Hubbard Lake Nature Preserve.
This laid-back, open-house style event is an open invitation to slow down and enjoy the preserve at your own pace. Bring whatever makes you comfortable — a blanket, lawn chair or a picnic spread — and settle in for an afternoon of reading, relaxing and soaking up the outdoors. Huron Pines staff will be on-site to welcome you and answer any questions, but the afternoon is yours to explore. Find your perfect spot, crack open your current read and let the preserve do the rest.
Restrooms are available on-site.
What to Bring:
Your current book or reading material
A blanket or lawn chair
Picnic snacks and beverages
Comfortable walking shoes for exploring

We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals to engage fully. It is a priority for Huron Pines to ensure that our communications and programming are available and accessible to everyone. Please contact amanda@huronpines.org if you have any questions about accessibility or believe barriers remain.
We recognize that accessibility is not always possible in every area of our work. Our efforts are ongoing. Through a commitment to continued learning and understanding, we will strengthen our awareness of the barriers and inequities that exist at the individual and community levels, in order to advance more equitable opportunities to experience the outdoors in our region.
