This year's meeting will bring OBR partners together to highlight and strengthen collaborative conservation across the region. The OBR brings people together with diverse perspectives and ways of knowing, and this gathering is an opportunity to learn from one another and explore what can be accomplished when we work together.
Throughout the day, we'll hear from partners, participate in guided discussions and get out for a field trip. We’ll explore how Indigenous and local knowledge can come together with Western science to support a shared approach to environmental, cultural and economic sustainability and well-being across the Great Lakes region.
The meeting will provide opportunities to:
Build and strengthen relationships with partners and the OBR
Explore how different ways of knowing can guide conservation
Learn about projects and programs happening throughout the region
Clarify roles and opportunities for involvement within the OBR network
Identify priorities for collaborative conservation and nurture future partnerships
Share ideas, experiences and local knowledge that can help shape the future of the Biosphere
Lunch will be provided.
