Join MUCC's On the Ground, the Kirtland’s Warbler Alliance and Huron Pines for the 2026 Jack Pine Planting Day. The goal of the project is to improve and enhance Kirtland’s warbler habitat by planting jack pine trees in the Grayling Forest Management Unit.
Volunteers will meet on the service road just east of the intersection of Morley Road and South Big Creek Road, 26 miles east of Grayling, Mich.
Bring your enthusiasm for improving wildlife habitats! Dibble bars, work gloves and all other necessary equipment will be provided but feel free to bring your own. This project will take place rain or shine unless there is severe weather, so please dress accordingly. Be prepared to work outside for the duration of the event. MUCC will provide lunch to all registered volunteers and a volunteer appreciation gift. We recommend bringing a reusable water bottle to reduce waste but plastic water bottles will be available throughout the day.
Registration closes May 1 at noon. If you need to register or cancel after this date/time, please email MUCC's Director of Habitat Conservation and Partnerships, Olivia Triltsch, at otriltsch@mucc.org so the lunch order can be updated.
