The Michigan Association of Planning (MAP) exists so that Michigan will consist of healthy, safe, attractive, and successful communities built first and foremost on quality community planning.
Each year, they host a conference for planners, local officials and students to learn about planning and network with other officials from around the state. During the MAP conference, it is also possible to take the entire MSU Extension “Citizen Planner” 7-part educational series in one concentrated setting, while still picking up on many other conference presentations.
This year, the MAP Board has decided to reach out to both members and non-members of the planning community in an effort to further the organization’s mission by providing educational opportunities to local officials who are interested.
They are currently looking for nominations of enthusiastic planning officials to participate in this year’s Planning Michigan conference to be the first MAP Board Scholarship recipients. The MAP Board will cover the cost of the conference admission for those accepted nominations.
Download a nomination form here and return it by June 12, 2009.
The 2009 MAP Conference will be held September 30 - October 3 at the Soaring Eagle Resort in Mount Pleasant. For more information, please visit Michigan Association of Planning. |
