About Huron Pines
Huron Pines is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization with a mission to conserve the forests, lakes and streams of Northeast Michigan. This mission is accomplished by coordinating large scale river restoration, watershed management, conservation leadership and land stewardship projects.
We use a hands-on approach to improving natural resources, providing technical support to our grassroots conservation partners and building partnerships between the public and private sector.
We are planning for the future and the future means our continued emphasis on thinking regionally about how to protect and manage our waters, woodlands and wildlife; how to best prioritize projects to get the greatest results for the dollars spent; and, how to both build and sustain strong partnerships, relying on both the public and private sector for meaningful conservation involvement.
Huron Pines not only has a large impact on the natural resources of Northeast Michigan, but in 2012 we brought over $2.5 million to the area from outside of the region, helping to boost the local economy.
